Meet our SHS Robotics Team. They have been busy designing this year's robot. Students not only build the robot, but they must write computer code to make it work! So, it is a combination of mechanical and computer engineering. Last Saturday they competed in League Meet #2. Team Mentor and SHS Teacher Angela Hooker said, "Saturday's meet was amazing. We won all our matches and consistently out-scored even the top teams in the league. We rose from 15th in the league to 7th. I am proud of how well the kids handled themselves as well. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day." Fantastic job Bulldogs!
Sutherlin High School Advanced Animal Science students are busy raising a small herd of sheep. The ewes were artificially inseminated in June by our animal science students. Lambs began arriving in early November, students have been busy giving shots, tail docking, lamb pulling, feeding, cleaning, and cleaning again! Talk about hands-on learning! Way to go, FFA!
Sutherlin High School's CTE students built several little libraries for our community. You will see them popping up around town. This little library is in front of our school district offices on Central Avenue. Nancy Anderson filled it. We encourage families to borrow a book, leave a book, or both!
