Today, we celebrated our October Students of the Month and recognized our fall sports athletes. Congratulations to all our recipients! We also enjoyed a fantastic concert from our talented band students and a heartwarming kindness skit from our drama class. Great job, everyone!

The Umpqua Valley Arts Center will host its Annual Members Show from November 1st to December 20th—a wonderful exhibition of artwork from its talented members. This year, we’re thrilled to share that Sutherlin Middle School art students have been invited to display their creative Peace Posters as part of the show! 🌍🕊️

Congratulations to the Unified Bulldogs soccer team for bringing home the gold medal from the Oregon Regional tournament in Wilsonville this weekend. The Bulldogs got key goals from Bentley Coe and team captain Dominic Bernardino. Ily Green and Kylee Bradley made huge contributions on defense in the gold medal game, holding the Forest Grove Vikings scoreless in the second half. Unified Basketball will be starting up after winter break. If you are interested in playing unified basketball, there will be a sign-up sheet in the office.
Sutherlin Boys and Girls Wrestling practice starts tomorrow for grades 6-8! Practices will be held Monday-Thursday from 3:25-5:00 PM in the Middle School Wrestling loft. There will also be Friday practices after this week. All athletes need a physical on file to participate. Coaches Andrew Smalley, Jon Martz, Bill Flora, and others will lead the team. We'll send home meet info at an upcoming practice. Wrestlers should wear gym shorts and a t-shirt. We have some wrestling shoes available to borrow if needed. Head gear will be provided to wrestlers prior to our first contest. Looking forward to a great season!
Middle School Boys' Basketball will start on Monday, 10/28/2024. Practice will happen from 3:20 to 5:00 p.m. On Monday, directly following practice, we will have a parent meeting in the middle school gym to introduce the coaches for the season and discuss the season's outlook and practice schedules.
We look forward to a fun and exciting season full of development and fun. Go Bulldogs!
We have School Spirit Week and our first school dance next week. Students who have paid their $30 school supply fee can attend the dance for free; students who haven't will need to pay $5. This supply fee goes directly into our associated student body fund (ASB fund) and helps support all our positive behavior support and fun activities.
We are looking forward to a fun week of school spirit festivities. Go Bulldogs!
The first 7th and 8th grade boys basketball practice will be on Monday, October 28th. The game schedule will be announced on 10/24. We do not have a 6th-grade boys basketball team. The first 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys & girls wrestling practice will be on Monday, October 28th. The meet schedule will be announced on 10/24. Boys must choose between wrestling and basketball this year; they cannot do both. Exact practice times will be announced later this month.
We have a few changes for tomorrow's football game.
7th/8th grade football game for Wednesday 10/23/2024. The games will be played at South Umpqua High School, instead of Coffenberry Middle School.
Game time has changed to later. 7th grade plays at 5:00 pm and 8th grade game will follow at approximately 6:30.
