For the families that like to plan, we have School Spirit Week at the end of October and our first school dance on November 1st. Students who have paid their $30 school supply fee can attend the dance for free; students who haven't will need to pay $5. This supply fee goes directly into our associated student body fund (ASB fund) and helps support all our positive behavior support and fun activities.
We are looking forward to a fun week of school spirit festivities. Go Bulldogs!
What a great day celebrating our school commUNITY! Mrs. Roig did a wonderful job organizing our fun! Mrs. Tillett made the teachers some yummy cookies. SMS is the best!

There are a few changes to our football schedule. This week, 8th graders have a home game against JoLane, and 7th graders do not have a game. Next week, the 8th grade plays at North Bend on Monday, and the 7th grade plays at Coquille on Wednesday at home.
SMS Leadership students were able to experience a college campus, where they were given tours of model dorm rooms and the different departments on campus. Many students had never seen a college campus and did not know what to expect. They were given the opportunity to ask questions about college and the various programs offered.
We have been soaking up these beautiful Fall days at SMS. Our PE students are super engaged with a unit on frisbee golf; I keep hearing how much fun they are having, so I snuck out in the sunshine and watched a class. Ask your child what they think of Frisbee Golf; it seems like everyone loves it.
Even though the holidays seem far away, community groups are gearing up to help those families needing additional support. Please look through our flyers and ask for help if you need some this year.
